This classroom-tested collection of leveled storybooks are designed to help young children in Grades K to 1 develop early literacy skills in the classroom, childcare center, or home. Handprints Level A materials are specifically intended for students who have little or no experience reading emergent books. Ranging from whimsical and caption-only pages to real-world storylines with friends or family characters, the 10 books in this set engage beginning readers as they develop sight word recognition and build fluency and comprehension skills. Students will benefit most from reading these books independently, in pairs, or in small and flexible groups where literacy skills are near or on the same level.
